Electronic Lock Door Access Systems

Card Services manages the Online Electronic Lock Door Access System which includes applying access for students, faculty, staff, contractors and programming building, classroom and laboratory schedules. Please read the Eastern Connecticut State University Key Policy.

The Key Shop manages the Offline Electronic Trilogy Lock Door Access System and Mechanical Keys. Please see Trilogy Lock Door Schedules below for a list of offline trilogy locks and their associated schedules. Please read the Eastern Connecticut State University Key Policy.

PLEASE NOTE: There are TWO Electronic Door Access Systems on campus which require separate request forms. Please see additional information below.

Card Services Office The Card Services Office administers the ONLINE Electronic Lock Door Access System on campus to allow access to specific areas. Exceptions can be made for temporary access to areas if access is only needed for a few hours.

If you are requesting temporary access to an area that is listed on the Electronic FOB Access Request Form, please email: cardservices@easternct.edu.

Offline Electronic Trilogy Lock Door Access

Facilities - Key Shop The Key Shop administers the OFFLINE Electronic Trilogy Lock Door Access System & Mechanical Keys. The Trilogy Lock / Mechanical Key Request Form must be completed to obtain trilogy lock access and/or mechanical keys.

PLEASE NOTE

Faculty and staff receive one (1) FOB for electronic and trilogy lock door access.

Starting the Fall 2025 semester, incoming residential students will receive a University Proximity ID Key Card (Prox Card) with electronic door access imbedded into the card. Students living in Constitution, Laurel, Nutmeg, Occum and Shafer Halls will also receive a Trilogy FOB for bedroom door access.

Current students living in residence halls will maintain their current FOB(s) access. Please see additional information below. Student Workers may also receive a FOB or Prox Card for their student employment area(s).

Faculty/Staff can obtain a replacement FOB at Card Services, Wood Support Services Ctr., Monday - Friday, 9a - 4p. Please email cardservices@easternct.edu or call (860) 465-5060 to disable FOB.

Exterior Door Access

All Residence Halls are equipped with electronic door access locks. Starting the Fall 2025 semester, resident students will be given a University Proximity ID Key Card (Prox Card) for electronic door access locks

Present the Prox Card or Key FOB at the reader located by the door, the door will unlock for a brief period of time. Access events are recorded by your name, so please do not lend out your Prox Card or Key FOB.

Interior Door Access

Residents of Constitution, Laurel, Nutmeg, Occum and Shafer Halls will receive a Trilogy Key FOB for their bedroom/suite access.

Residents of Burnap, Burr, Crandall, Windham Street Apartments, Noble, Occum and Winthrop Halls will receive a Mechanical Key for bedroom/suite access.

Lost Key FOB, Prox Card & Mechanical Key

Residence Hall Exterior Door Electronic Access Key FOBs and Prox Cards are replaced at Card Services.

Residence Hall Interior Door Trilogy Key FOBs and Mechanical Keys should be reported lost by submitting a work order through the MyHousing Portal to begin the replacement process.

Electronic Lock Door Access Information Students keep their Residence Hall Exterior Door Key FOB or University Proximity ID Key Card (Prox Card) for the time they are attending the University. If their housing assignment changes their access is updated electronically.

Do not turn your Exterior Door Key FOB or University Proximity ID Key Card (Prox Card) into your hall when moving out of a building.

Residents of Burnap, Burr, Constitution, Crandall, Laurel, Noble, Nutmeg, Occum, Shafer, Winthrop Halls and Windham Street Apartments must turn in their bedroom/suite Trilogy Key FOB and/or Mechanical Key when moving out of a building.
