Resident Assistant Staff

Resident Assistant

Each residence area is fully staffed by a team of student paraprofessionals, Resident Assistants (RAs). RAs are carefully selected and trained to help residents create a community environment conducive to individual and social growth. Each RA strives to empower students to identify needs and determine goals, be available to students, provide opportunity for student involvement in the residential community, and assist individual students in realizing and implementing a mature approach to personal conduct. An RA's knowledge of the campus and community is invaluable in making your university experience rewarding. We encourage you to call upon your RA as a resource person in gathering information and answering questions about the University.

Part of the Resident Assistant responsibilities is programming. These student leaders provide a variety of programs covering the categories of Social, Educational, and Community Service. In addition, the Housing Staff puts on at least one major weekend program per month in addition to smaller weekend programs (weekend movies, etc). Programs can either be small and informal or large scale events.
