The World Languages and Cultures Department hosts a special informational event, Explora Español, on Monday, September 30, 2024, 3:00-4:00 pm in Webb 233B. This event is specially geared toward first- and second-year students at Eastern that are heritage and native Spanish speakers. The aim of Explora Español is to highlight unique benefits of studying Spanish in college for those that have a familiarity with the language.

On Wednesday, November 15 the World Languages and Cultures Department hosts a screening of Alice Diop's Saint Omer, an award winning French film that chronicles the lives of two Black (immigrant) women, one accused of causing her toddler's death, and the other a writer attending the trial. Critics have described the film as breathtaking and soul-shaking. Join us!

On Wednesday, December 6 from 5-6 pm, the World Languages and Cultures Department hosts a Game Night (Noche de Juego; Une Soiree-Juex) with a variety of board games and card games that are popular in French and Spanish speaking countries.
