On Wednesday, November 2, 2022 Carlos Andrés Gómez visits Eastern for a special program and reception.

The program, “The Power of Latinidad in a Fractured World,” will take place in the Student Center Theater at 6:00 pm, with a reception to follow in the Intercultural Center at 7:00 pm.

Carlos Andrés Gómez, an award winning Colombian American poet, speaker and actor, is no stranger to Eastern.  He wowed audience members with his presence, poetry and stories in 2014.  With his return visit, Gómez will discuss and engage with members of the Eastern community about his exploration and understanding of his Latinx heritage.  Through his poetry and stories, he will share the life-changing lessons he has learned about intersectionality, equity and what it means to celebrate human authenticity.

This special program is supported by the OLAS (Organization of Latin American Students), Eastern’s Intercultural Center, Eastern’s Office of Equity and Diversity, and the World Languages and Cultures Department.

The program and reception is free and open to the Eastern community.
