Resume Hustle

  • Are you thinking about your career after graduation?
  • Is your resume up-to-date?
  • Do you know how to highlight your language skills on your resume?
  • Will your resume standout among others?

If you are unsure of your answers to any of these questions, join us for Resume Hustle.

Resume Hustle is an opportunity for world language majors and minors to connect {virtually} with an Eastern alumna and get advice on crafting a resume.

This event will feature Yisel DeOleo-Gregory, ‘13.  While at Eastern, Yisel double majored in Spanish and Communication, graduating with the distinction of Summa Cum Laude.  After graduation, Yisel worked as an Admission Counselor at Eastern before moving on to mentor students at a Connecticut charter school.  Currently, Yisel is an Urban Education Fellow at Brown University, pursuing her interest in education policy and her passion for reducing education inequities in urban communities.

Using her own resumes as a guide, Yisel will discuss resume writing and share tips for students studying languages.  Current students will have the opportunity ask questions best answered by a recent graduate.

Resume Hustle will also feature information and advice from Lana O’Connor, an Assistant Director in the Center for Internships and Career Development (CICD) at Eastern.   The CICD offers students a range of resources for developing and refining resumes, from how-to guides and templates to one-on-one review appointments.  Resume Hustle offers students an opportunity to make a first or deeper connection with this important on-campus department.

Students attending Resume Hustle are also encouraged to submit a draft of their current resume to Dr. Chan for review.

Resume writing is something that should not wait until senior year.  Join us!
