MUS 495: Internship in Music

Qualifications: In order to complete an internship in Music, students must be either Juniors or Seniors and be in good academic standing.

Course Description: 45 hours of internship experience per credit hour. Music students may elect to participate in an on-or-off campus internship in the field of music. Possible areas of internship may include arts administration, operations, education, development, music production, audio engineering, music sales, or other related fields. Internships must be approved by the Music Program Internship Coordinator and all internship paperwork must be filed prior to the start of the internship in order for students to receive academic credit.

Internship Facts:

  • 45 Hours of Internship are required for each credit hour.
  • Students in the Music Industry and Leadership Concentration are required to complete an approved internship for academic credit as a requirements for the program.
  • All Internships must be approved by the Music Program Internship Coordinator prior to registration to guarantee academic credit.
  • All necessary registration paperwork must be completed prior to the start date of the internship in order to receive academic credit
  • No retroactive credit can will be given for internships completed prior to proper registration and approval
