Fall Transfer Student Guide



Dare to be extraordinary at Eastern Connecticut State University. It's a place where a love of learning is palpable - and the drive to make a difference is even more so. You are officially on your way to becoming a Warrior! This guide will help ensure that you are fully prepared for the start of the fall 2023 semester and an excellent year. All you have to do is follow these steps:


  • Take a moment to enjoy this incredible milestone in your life – you’re going to college! Take a photo with your acceptance packet to commemorate the occasion. If you post it on Instagram or TikTok and tag @WhyEastern, we could feature you on our page!
  • File the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible to qualify for grants and other funding. Eastern’s priority deadline is June 1, 2023. Need-based financial aid award offers will be mailed home beginning in January 2023. You may also view your offer online by following steps 1-10 on this page:
  • Your Office 365 e-mail account is the primary source of communication between you and Eastern. Prior to arriving to campus, you will receive emails to inform you about placement testing, housing, financial aid, and registration. Your account credentials are also used to access eWeb to view your transfer credit evaluation, submit your deposits, register for classes, view your financial aid, and more. Please click here for instructions to activate your Office 365 account; please refer to your acceptance letter for your Eastern ID, username, and email address.
  • Your transfer credit evaluation is included in your acceptance packet and is also posted on eWeb Online
    Services. You may access this by logging into your Office 365 account, and clicking the icon titled “Self-Service (eWeb)”. You may then navigate to Student Services > Student Records > Transfer Course Evaluation.

    Please note: Students may pay their tuition deposit before registering for classes. Transfer and Re-Admitted students will be able to register with current Eastern students in their designated class (determined by number of completed credits).

  • Commit to being a Warrior! You are encouraged to pay your tuition deposit as soon as possible. The University reserves the right to return deposits received after enrollment capacity has been reached. You may click HERE for step-by-step instructions to submit your deposit(s).

    Students living on campus: $450 non-refundable tuition and housing deposit.

    Students living off campus: $200 non-refundable tuition deposit.
  • Visit for detailed application instructions after submitting your deposit(s). Hall placement will be determined in a first-come, first-served manner based on the date your housing deposit is paid and the application is submitted. Hall assignments do not begin until mid-April. Be sure to check your Eastern email account for updates after this date.
  • Please go to for the required health forms. Be sure to review the “Five Things You Need To Read” form.
  • Orientation Online is our mandatory program to onboard new transfer students. Orientation Online will include videos, resources and checklists and you will have the opportunity to return to these modules at any point during the spring semester as an additional resource.     New transfer students are invited to participate in an optional, in-person orientation session to meet other students and staff. The SOAR (Student Orientation Advisement and Registration) date is
    Thursday, August 16, 2023. Please note this is a date change from our previously-scheduled session on August 17. You must submit your non-refundable tuition deposit prior to attending SOAR. To register, please visit

  • Please follow the steps on this page to accept or decline any federal student loans that you were offered: You may also need to complete your Entrance Counseling Exam and Master Promissory Note, which are linked on that page. If you were offered a merit scholarship or grant(s), those will be automatically accepted for you.
