Eastern Connecticut State University is a premiere Liberal Arts University located in Willimantic, Connecticut on a beautiful, modern campus boasting small class sizes, strong relationships with faculty and staff and a friendly campus environment.

How to Apply

  • You may apply online using Eastern's Online Application or the Common Application.

    How do I know if I am a First-year student or Transfer student?
    First-year students have never attended college, or have college credits from another country that will not transfer to Eastern.
    Transfer students have attended college, either in the USA or another country, and will be transferring those credits toward their degree from Eastern.

  • All international students must submit an application fee online. Eastern does not issue fee waivers; all fee waivers must come directly from the student if he or she qualifies.
  • Spring Semester: Apply online and have all documents submitted by December 15.

    Fall Semester: Apply online and have all documents submitted by July 15.

  • All documents may be emailed to admissions@easternct.edu

    The following documents are required:

    • Official secondary school transcript indicating courses completed with all grades
    • Official college transcript(s) from all previously attended universities (this is only required if you have attended college or taken college courses).
    • If necessary, have transcripts evaluated for foreign educational credential evaluation by a NACES Member Organization. Click here for a list of NACES Members. Please note: SpanTran is our recommended international transcript evaluation service; they have a custom application that will make sure you select the correct type of evaluation at a discounted rate.     • Proof of English Proficiency. Minimum accepted scores include one of the following:
      • TOEFL (iBT 79)
      • IELTS score of 6
      • DuoLingo English Test score of 100
      • Pearson Test of English (PTEA) score of 53
    • Copy of your passport.
    • Bank Statement and Affidavit or financial guarantee. Your bank statement must show a minimum of $30,000 USD or the equivalent in your currency. If you will have a sponsor assisting with paying for college in the USA, he or she must complete an Affidavit of Financial Support Form and send it to admissions@easternct.edu.
