Transfer to Eastern


Complete your bachelor’s degree at Eastern! Small classes and personal attention will help you graduate on time. We accept credits from accredited institutions, and will evaluate previous courses to show you how they will transfer. Customize your plan of study with more than 40 majors and 65 minors.

Information for Transfer Applicants

  • Admission to Eastern is competitive, and the Admission Committee considers many factors when evaluating applications for transfer admission. Applicants in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at their previously-attended institution(s) may be offered admission to the University. Eastern seeks to enroll students who have demonstrated academic success in their previous college experience and who view Eastern as their university of first choice.
  • To apply for admission, applicants must submit the following information to the Office of Admissions:

    1. A completed application for admission, including the non-refundable $50 application fee. Military Veterans/Active Duty contact the Admissions Office for an application fee waiver. Use Eastern's Online Web Application (preferred) or the Common Application
    2. All official college transcripts from current and/or previously-attended institutions. Official transcripts must come directly from the college or university, and may be sent electronically (recommended) or by mail.
    3. Your final high school transcript (required if you took two years of the same foreign language in high school) or copy of high school diploma/GED.
    4. For international applicants only: TOEFL (Minimum TOEFL requirement: Score of 550 or 213 on the computer-based test)

  • You may check the status of your application by clicking here. You will be prompted to enter your Admissions ID number (in the format of C0000xxxxxx), which is found in your Application Acknowledgment email. Your password is your date of birth in MM/DD/YYYY format, including back slashes.

    Once in your application status portal, you will see any missing documents listed. You may also click on the College Transcript links to view which transcript(s) we have received.

    Official admission decisions are not released through the application status portal. If you are accepted to the University, you will receive a mailed acceptance packet within a week of your admission decision.

    If you are accepted to Eastern, you may refer back to this application status portal to view your Transfer Credit Evaluation, which will show all the courses you've previously taken and how they will transfer to Eastern. A paper copy of this will also be included in your acceptance packet. 

  • Transferring from another Connecticut State University or Connecticut Community College? Click here to see how your courses may transfer to Eastern.
  • Community College students may complete associate degree programs that transfer without hassle to Eastern. Upon transfer, students are guaranteed full junior status at Eastern and may complete their bachelor's degree in their major without losing any credits or asked to complete any extra credits.
