Piano Studies

The principal goal of the piano program at Eastern is to implement the mission of Eastern Connecticut State University. As the state's designated public liberal arts university, the mission of Eastern is to provide high quality education to a diverse population of talented students. In order to fulfill the mission, the piano program offers many different levels and formats of instructions for music majors, minors and the general student population.

Since the application of theory in practical settings-one of the mission of the University-is an integral part of the piano program, we offer the opportunity for students to develop a high level of musicianship while exploring culturally diverse pianistic literature.

Eastern piano students perform regularly at various university events such as Piano Studio Recital, Multi-Hand Piano Concert, Korean Music Concert, Chamber Music Concert, Jazz Combo Concert, Jazz Ensemble Concert, Concert Band Concert, and Noon Recital Series.

For more information on Piano Studies at Eastern, please contact Okon Hwang (D.M.A. & Ph.D.), Professor of Music.
