Music in the Community

Free Concerts and Events

The Music Program at Eastern is committed to engaging with the campus and local communities through our programming and outreach initiatives. At the center of this mission is the belief that all Music Program concerts and events should be free for all Eastern students, faculty, and community members. Examples of these free events include our Noon Recital Series, Guest Artist lecturers and presentations, Faculty Recitals and University Ensemble Concerts.

Concert Parking

On concert nights and weekends, the parking lot directly behind the Fine Arts Center is available for guest parking. There is elevator access to the 1st Floor from this parking lot. Drop-off at the Fine Arts Center lobby is also available off of High Street. If you have additional questions about parking or need directions to the Fine Arts Center, please contact the Box Office at (860) 465-5121.

University Ensembles

Both Eastern Concert Band and Eastern Concert Chorale welcome members of the community in addition to Eastern students, faculty, and alumni. If you are interested in learning more about either of these ensembles, please email the appropriate ensemble director!

Off-Campus Programming

In addition to our on-campus programming, our students and ensembles frequently engage with the community in non-traditional venues such as nursing homes and retirement communities, schools, and after school program through Project L.I.S.T.E.N. This community engagement initiative encourages our students to seek opportunities to get out into the community to use their art for social good.

If you are interested in having one of our ensembles visit your school, camp, or after-school program, please email Dr. Emily Riggs (riggse@easternct.edu).
