Why did you choose Eastern?

I chose Eastern because I love the small class sizes and it was the perfect location from my hometown. Quite a few students from my graduating class decided to attend and it made the transition easier knowing I had friends that were going through the same process as me. Also, the small campus really drew me in because I wanted that sense of community and only have a 10-minute walk to class.

What do you enjoy doing outside of class?

Outside of class, I love spending time with my suitemates and our friends in the building. We love having “family dinners” where we get as many of our friends to go to the dining hall for a meal together. Additionally, I volunteer through the Center for Community Engagement at a local Elementary School, getting hands-on experience working with children.

Advice you would give to a high school senior about the admissions process:

I know college can be scary at first, but with time you will love it. Pick what college feels like home to you because it will be your home for the next four years. During your first semester, try to go to as many on campus events as you can, to meet lots of new people. I’d recommend becoming friends with your neighbors, so you always have someone to go to in your residence hall, other than your roommates.
