Alpha Mu Alpha

Alpha Mu Alpha is the national marketing honors society of the American Marketing Association. It was established in the spring of 1981 for qualified undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, and marketing faculty. It was formed to recognize and reward academic excellence in the discipline and science of marketing. Induction into Alpha Mu Alpha introduces Eastern’s marketing students to a select group of outstanding peers worldwide.

The Greek initials of the society appear on the front of the certificate, and stand for:

• Alpha – standing for A, reminds students that they are among the first in scholastic achievement in their class.
• Mu – means middle – or continuation, reminding students that they are expected to continue to contribute to the development of their chosen profession.
• Alpha – stands for the beginning of their career as a professional marketer where their efforts will make a good life better for everyone.
