Eastern’s Emergency Services and Public Safety Careers Certificate prepares students for meaningful work in public safety, emergency services and related fields. The 12-credit certificate is designed for students interested in emergency services, public safety, law enforcement, corrections, forensic services, emergency communications and related career pathways. Open to students across majors, the program helps students explore career options, build professional networks and connect their liberal arts education to real-world public service.

Curriculum

The Emergency Services and Public Safety Careers Certificate requires 12 credits:

  • SOC/CRM 102 - 2 credits
  • SOC/CRM 202 - 2 credits
  • SOC/CRM 302 - 2 credits
  • CRM 475/490 - 6 credits

The certificate includes a required internship through CRM 475/490, giving students the opportunity to apply their learning in a professional setting while gaining hands-on experience and building their career networks.

This certificate is a strong fit for students interested in careers in emergency services, public safety, law enforcement, corrections, forensic services, emergency dispatch, fire services, social services or related fields.
