“From the start, we have wanted to provide a space where people can engage in philosophy discussions and realize how its principles are applicable to every aspect of our lives,” said club president Katherine Escalante ’25, explaining why she believes the club’s mission has resonated with members and was responsible for winning the award.

“A (big) part of achieving this honor has been the way we have engaged in thought-provoking conversations with each other,” continued Escalante. “Our club activities are wide-ranging. We host spirited debates, ethical dilemma nights, philosophy lectures and even a Valentine’s Day-themed, philosophy-based speed dating night!”

Escalante said the club plans to continue in the fall semester with additional activities, including a debate, a philosophical film night and traveling to Hartford for “Socratic” coffee talks.
