Telly statuetteThe CECE has been awarded another Telly Award! The video "Using Children's Books to Help Build Inclusive Classrooms" has been awarded a Bronze award in the category of General - Social Issues. A part of the CECE’s series focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion in early childhood, the video describes how teachers can carefully select varied children’s books to ensure they represent a diversity of cultures and family structures. Eastern education professor Dr. Theresa Bouley explains how engaging children in rich pre- and post-reading discussions can foster an appreciation of diverse perspectives and help create inclusive classrooms. The video features footage of current CFDRC staff Emily Grogan, Patty McCarthy, and Niloufar Rezai reading books and having important discussions with children.

Special congratulations go to the CECE production team for their work on this video. Ken Measimer served as videographer and editor with Eastern alum Mark-Anthony Richards serving as his assistant. Julia DeLapp served as scriptwriter and producer.
