Research

When people think of a small liberal arts college, exceptional research does not always come to mind. But at Eastern, undergraduates of all majors work closely with faculty and engage in research. Also impressive is their success at local and national research conferences.

CREATE: The Student Center was transformed into a lively display of scholarly and artistic activity on April 15, 2016, for the second annual CREATE conference. The one-day conference featured more than 250 students and was Eastern's largest undergraduate showcase yet. Read more

NCUR and COPLAC: Sizeable cohorts of Eastern undergraduate researchers presented at two national conferences in the 2015-16 academic year: the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in North Carolina and the Council of Public Liberal Arts (COPLAC) conference in New Jersey.

Library Research Awards: Two students who exhibited creative and effective use of library resources were recognized at the annual Library Research Awards this past May. Read more

EES at GSA: The Environmental Earth Science (EES) Department represented Eastern in Albany, NY, at the 51st Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America (GSA). Read More

"Making History": A group of history students presented their research at the second annual CSU "Making History" conference this past March at Central Connecticut State University. Read more

TIMPANI: A wooden cash register was named the 2015 TIMPANI (Toys that Inspire Mindful Play and Nurture Imagination) Toy in the Center for Early Childhood Education's seventh annual TIMPANI study. Read more
