Fine Arts Instructional Center

Eastern opened its long-awaited Fine Arts Instructional Center in the spring 2016 semester. The state-of-the-art, 118,000-square foot facility has already hosted a number of musical, theatrical and visual arts productions. A few of the inaugural season's standout events are below.

Ribbon Cutting: Eastern held the formal opening of its new Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC) with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 5, 2016. Read more

Inaugural Concert: The inaugural concert of the FAIC occurred on Feb. 20, 2016. The historic performance featured vocal and instrumental ensembles composed of Eastern students, faculty, staff and local community members. Read more

"In Place, In Time": The Art Gallery in the FAIC held its opening exhibition, "In Place, In Time," from Jan. 14 to Feb. 25, 2016. The gallery showcased the photography of T. Harrison Judd, whose work is reminiscent of legendary Windham artist J. Alden Weir. Read more

"Power Plays": The theatre program's FAIC debut was "Power Plays," a series of student-directed, one-act plays. It ran from April 14 to 18, 2016, in the Studio Theatre. Read more

Last Performance in the Harry Hope Theatre: The curtains closed for the final time at The Harry Hope Theatre with "A Doubt, A Parable," which ran from Oct. 27 to Nov. 1, 2015. The show concluded an impressive list of productions in the longstanding performing arts venue in Shafer Hall. Read more
