As successful as they were on the field, however, they remained committed to the philosophy of NCAA Division III athletics - academic success is their number one goal, and considering their achievements last year, it shows.

Hockey: The club hockey team claimed the title of American Conference champions of the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA) on Feb. 21, 2016. The team finished with the second best record in the 32-team NECHA. Read more about the Hockey club

President's Cup: For the second straight year, Eastern student-athletes earned the President's Cup, the highest academic award in the Little East Conference. Their cumulative GPA was the highest in the history of the award. Read more about the President's Cup

Elsa Núñez and a student athlete holding the President's CupStar Student Athletes: Six Eastern Connecticut State University individuals representing eight programs were selected as recipients of major awards during the 2015-16 intercollegiate athletic season.

All-Academic Team: Thirty Eastern Connecticut State University student-athletes representing five spring programs qualified for the 2016 Little East Conference All-Academic Team.

McKosky, Rookie of the Year: Women's cross country freshman Samantha McKosky '19 was named Little East Conference (LEC) Rookie of the Year in November 2015.
