Grisela is a content creator and marketing strategist producing beauty and lifestyle content across platforms. “I manage the full production process, including filming, editing, publishing, and collaboration with brands on marketing campaigns and sponsored content.”

Why did you choose Eastern for college?

“I chose Eastern because I was looking for a university that offered a supportive learning environment and smaller class sizes where I could build meaningful connections with professors. I valued the opportunity to learn in a setting where professors were accessible and invested in their students' success. I was also drawn to the strong sense of community on campus and the opportunities Eastern provided for both personal growth and academic development. It felt like a place where i could challenge myself, explore different interests, and gain the skills needed to pursue my future goals.”

Who were your faculty mentors?

“During my time at Eastern, Professor Pesta encouraged me to think more critically about human behavior, social systems, and the many factors that influence decision making. Her classes challenged me to look deeper at complex issues and strengthened my analytical and problem-solving abilities. She is truly a light in my life and has helped me create beyond what I imagined.

“Professor Stephen Nathan also played an important role in my growth. Through his work in sustainable energy and innovation, he emphasized the importance of exploring different possibilities rather than limiting yourself to a single path. His guidance encouraged me to remain open to new opportunities and to pursue directions that align with my strengths and interests. Both professors helped shape the way I approach challenges today, and their mentorship continues to influence how I think, learn, and grow.”

How has Eastern prepared you for your career?

“My time at Eastern Connecticut State University helped me develop stronger critical thinking and communication skills that I continue to apply in my professional and personal life. The support and guidance I received from my professors encouraged me to approach challenges with a thoughtful and open-minded perspective. The courses and experiences I had at Eastern helped shape the way I analyze situations, solve problems, and pursue new opportunities. I’m very grateful for the majors I chose, as they provided a strong foundation that continues to influence the directions of my career.
