On Tuesday, April 7 at 7:00 pm the World Languages and Cultures Department welcomes back two of its graduates for our annual Alumni Forum, an evening of dialogue, reflection and connections between current students and alumni.
This year we are joined by Jessica Martinez – BA Spanish with a minor in Criminology ’12 and Priscilla Rambarose – BS Elementary Education and Spanish ’24. These young professionals bring a fresh perspective on starting their careers and continuing to pursue their educational goals after Eastern.
Jessica is a first-generation college student from Mexico. She is currently working in the Dean of Students Office at UConn and has previously held a position in the Admissions Office at UConn where her work focused on supporting students from underserved communities. Before her time at UConn, she worked in the healthcare field at a nonprofit organization connecting primarily Spanish-speaking patients to medical, community, and substance use resources. She is also pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.
Priscilla is currently a Pre-K public school teacher in Massachusetts. Reflecting on her time at Eastern, Priscilla believes that “studying Spanish at the collegiate level reshaped how I understand and use the language with more precision, intention, and in the process, confidence.” She is looking forward to sharing her perspective and journey with current students.
Join us for the Alumni Forum!
To be most accessible to students and alumni, the Alumni Forum will be held virtually, via Teams. For a link to the meeting, please email the World Languages and Cultures Dept.
