First Year Student Orientation

First-year students will participate in a two-day, overnight program called SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising & Registration). This program occurs during the month of June and students can select 1 of 4 sessions to attend. SOAR will allow you the opportunity to meet other new students, student leaders, faculty and staff, acclimate you to campus and finalize your fall class schedule. 

Registration for SOAR begins March 1. 

SOAR 1: June 16- 17, 2025

SOAR 2: June 23- 24, 2025

SOAR 3: June 26- 27, 2025

SOAR 4: June 30- July 1, 2025

All first-year students are charged an orientation fee and it is reflected in your itemized tuition bill. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Casey Kensey at kenseyc@easternct.edu.

First Year Preference Survey 

The First Year Preference Survey will open and be emailed to you on June 2, 2024. You will have until June 7, 2024 to complete it. The survey will allow Academic Advising to get to know you better in order to build you the best schedule possible.

Your Fall Class Schedule
The Advising Center will build Fall 2024 class schedules for all new incoming first-time students and they will be ready to view on June 14. Schedules will be built for students who have paid a tuition deposit. You will receive an email to your Eastern email account alerting you that your schedule is ready. This email will also include instructions for how to view your schedule in your eWeb account.

Finalize your Fall Schedule
Have questions about your schedule? Need to make changes? No problem! You will have the chance to meet with an advisor during SOAR to review and finalize your fall schedule.

Orientation Online will introduce you to the services and resources Eastern offers so that you can become a successful part of our campus community. Orientation Online will include videos, resources and checklists and you will have the opportunity to return to these modules at any point during the spring semester as an additional resource. 

Orientation Online will be available starting July 1 and you will have until August 22, 2025 to complete this mandatory orientation. To access Orientation Online, please visit https://orientationonline.easternct.edu/ and log in using your Eastern credentials (use the same user name and password that you would use to log into your Eastern email account). 

 

 

Warrior Welcome occurs immediately after first-year student move-in on August 23 through August 25, 2025. All new first-year and transfer, residential and commuter students are required to attend.

Fall Warrior Welcome consists of three days of events and activities designed to help students acclimate themselves to campus and prepare for the start of classes.
