For Mid-Event Issues in the Student Center, Shafer Auditorium and Fine Arts Instructional Center: Immediately reach out to Event Support Staff.

For Mid-Event Issues in all other Event Spaces: Immediately reach out to Event Support Staff or contact Media Services (860) 465-5304

  • Media Services provides audio and visual support for large events and conferences on Eastern’s campus.

    Support services offered:
    • Audio Amplification
    • Multimedia Equipment Setup & Support
    • AV Technical Staffing

    To schedule support for an event, first request media services support through the e-Schedule (EMS Scheduler) process for the event, fundamental AV needs must be specified, followed up by an email to: 

    Requests must be submitted by email at least ten (10) business days prior to the event.

    Depending on the nature of the request, a staff member may contact you to obtain additional information.

    All support requests will be confirmed via email.

    • Event organizers are discouraged from scheduling events requiring AV technology in non-event spaces.
    • Event DJs must provide their own PA equipment and cannot connect to university sound systems.
    • Spaces without AV infrastructure can only be provided with minimal AV technology support.
    • Spaces with existing installed AV infrastructure will be limited to the equipment installed in that space.
    • AV support for all events is subject to equipment and staff availability, as well as weather conditions. 

    If event is cancelled or moved, please notify us as soon as possible.

  • All of Eastern’s classrooms, instructional labs, and large meeting spaces
    are equipped with fixed multimedia projection equipment.

    Each podium is equipped with:
    • Windows-based computer
    • Blu-ray player
    • Document Camera
    • HDMI Laptop input
    Users must provide their own adapter for connecting to the HDMI cable.

    Only authorized users who have scheduled the use of a space may use the AV technology in classrooms and meeting spaces

    To schedule a demo or training on the equipment in classrooms and meeting spaces: 
  • Media Services manages the operation of Eastern's Television Studio which is located in Communication 114.

    • Professional Broadcast Environment: Equipped with industry-standard cameras, lighting, and audio systems for high-quality video production.
    • Multi-Camera Setup: Supports live switching and recording with multiple camera angles for dynamic coverage.
    • Lighting Grid: Adjustable studio lighting with dimmers and color temperature control for optimal visual effects.
    • Control Room: Features video switcher, audio mixer and graphics systems for full production control.
    • Teleprompter: Enhances on-camera delivery for presenters and anchors.
    • Green Screen Capabilities: Allows for chroma key compositing 
    • Flexible Set Design: Modular furniture and backdrops for news, talk shows, interviews and educational content.
    • Recording & Archiving: Digital storage solutions for archiving and managing media assets.
    • Green Room: Guest can prepare and relax in their own space.

    The Studio is used as a teaching facility for Eastern's Department of Communication, Film and Theatre, is home to ETV News' live weekly newscast and a host of Media Services projects.

  • Media Services manages the access and support of the Video Editing Suite located in Communication 111. 

    The Suite contains two Post-Production Workstations utilized by Students working on special projects.
