The Department of Communication provides undergraduates with a grounded core of knowledge and practical experience in the discipline. Theory and application are integrated in a program that stresses creativity, intellectual rigor and professional competence. A major and a minor in communication are offered, with students choosing from concentrations that range from media production to public relations, advertising, leadership communication and journalism. An NPR- affiliated, student-run radio station, a student newspaper and a student television operation provide students with a selection of applied experiences, as do a variety of on- and off-campus internships.
