Business Economics Concentration: Course Requirements

This program serves the interests of those students who seek immediate career opportunities in business. By combining course work from economics and business/accounting with an optional internship or coop in a business in the U.S. or overseas, Business Economics students are prepared to enter jobs in finance, marketing or general administration.

The following courses are required for all Business Economic majors

ECO 200 Principles of Macroeconomics - 3 credits
ECO 201 Principles of Microeconomics - 3 credits
ECO 215 Statistics for Business and Economics - 3 credits
ECO 300 Quantitative Methods for Economics - 3 credits
ECO 301 Intermediate Microeconomic Analysis - 3 credits
ECO 302 Intermediate Macroeconomic Analysis - 3 credits
ECO 479 Senior Economics Seminar - 3 credits
ECO 490 Internship or Co-op - 3 credits
Total - 24 credits

ONE course to be chosen from the following options

ECO 322 Environmental Economics - 3 credits
ECO 345 Industrial Organization and Development - 3 credits
Total - 3 credits

An additional ONE course to be chosen from the following options

ECO 305 Introduction to Econometrics - 3 credits
ECO 325 Money and Banking - 3 credits
ECO 330 Labor Economics - 3 credits
ECO 331 Economics of Sports - 3 credits
ECO 333 Health Economics - 3 credits
ECO 340 Business Cycles and Forecasting - 3 credits
