Accreditation

The teacher education programs at the School of Education and Professional Studies at Eastern Connecticut State University were evaluated in 2017 by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and have been approved for continuing accreditation until 2022. The EPP continues to work on program improvement and is being reviewed for continued accreditation by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The EPP hosted the site visit in Fall 2021. Data on our program outcomes and impact have been displayed at the CAEP Accountability Measures page.

  • Secondary education: Biology and Earth Science (graduate)
  • Secondary education: History/Social Studies (graduate)
  • Secondary education: History/Social Studies (undergraduate)
  • Physical Education (undergraduate)

Additionally, individual teacher education programs at Eastern have continued nationally recognition by the following professional associations:

  • Association of Childhood Education International (ACEI)
  • National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
  • National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE)
  • National Science Teaching Association (NSTA)
  • National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS)
