Requests for Proposals (RFP)

An RFP may be utilized to obtain competitive proposals for the provision of goods and/or services in circumstances when cost is not the sole criterion on which selection of a contractor will be based. An RFP shall include, but not be limited to, the following components:

  • Statement of objectives;
  • Relevant background on CSUS;
  • Scope of work;
  • Special conditions, if any;
  • Request for vendor information;
  • Proposal submission requirements;
  • General instructions and conditions (including all required affidavits, certifications and required contract provisions); and
  • Criteria by which the proposals will be evaluated.

The weight to be accorded each of the evaluation criteria shall be finalized and set forth in a notarized document prior to the opening of the bids or proposals.
