Courses Restricted to Specific Majors/Minors

Some courses are limited to students who have the specific subject area declared as a Major/Minor. If a student wishes to take a course outside of their area of study and the course has this particular limitation, the Instructor of the course and Department Chair of the respective department will need to approve.

*Note that some courses with this restriction may also only require instructor permission, so be sure to check specifics listed under the course pre-requisites or in the course description.

If you are interested in taking a course as mentioned above, you can obtain approval from the Instructor and Department Chair by sending the following information to them from your Eastern Email:

Hello Professor {Instructor and Dept. Chair Name}, I would like to take the class listed above, but I get an error when registering because it is restricted to Majors Only. I would like to take this class as I am interested in the subject and think it will be a worthwhile experience. If you approve, please forward this email chain, with your approval, to registrar@easternct.edu to process.

Thank you.

If, for some reason you are unable to access your Eastern email account, you may fill out the Registration Approval - Written Consent form, obtain any necessary signatures, and return the form to the Registrar's Office.
