Frequently Asked Questions

  • Graduate Commencement will take place at the Fine Arts Instructional Center, Eastern Connecticut State University, 83 Windham St. Willimantic, CT 06226

  • Graduate Commencement will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
  • Hooding and commencement start promptly at 10:30 a.m. Ticketed guests should be seated no later than 10:00 a.m. Overflow seating will be available for non-ticketed guests. Graduates should arrive no later than 9:15 a.m. with their regalia.

  • We expect commencement to last approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours.

  • Parking will be in the Shakespeare and Cervantes Garages. Please email graduateadmission@easternct.edu if you require accessible parking. Campus parking maps can be found here.

  • We will do our best to accommodate seating needs. However, due to the capacity of the venue, graduates will initially be limited to 4 guest tickets. Please indicate on the survey if you wish to be added to the list for extra tickets.

  • Commencement is a joyous but dignified occasion. The University's policy is that all graduates participating in the ceremony must wear an approved cap and gown and hood of the correct color. Personal adornments (e.g., leis, stoles, or messages on caps) are not consistent with the spirit of the graduation ceremony. Graduates who appear at the Commencement lineup with unapproved adornment will be asked by student or faculty marshals to remove it. Faculty marshals have the authority to prevent anyone in unapproved adornment from processing.
