Eligibility and Application Process


Eligibility Criteria

Students must be:

Students from historically underrepresented groups (American Indian, African American or Black, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, or two or more races) in STEM professions are strongly encouraged to apply.

Application Process

  • Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements.
  • Applicants must submit an essay, in 500 words or less, describing why you want to be a STEM major, why you would like to participate in this program, and how this program will help you achieve your career goals. Please include your name and Eastern ID at the top of your essay.

Applicants must upload their essay in their Eastern Admissions Portal URL: https://apply.easternct.edu/apply/status

We are accepting 15 students.  Priority consideration will be given to applications received by May 8, 2026.  Applications will be accepted and reviewed until all available spots are filled.
