Family Partnership

Our relationship with each family creates a foundation and sense of security for the children in the program. We endeavor to partner with family members to maintain consistent and open communication using daily journals and individual conversations.

Family members make valuable contributions to the development of our classroom curriculum investigations and projects and are called upon frequently to partner with us in the development of classroom experiences.

Advisory Committee

The purpose of the advisory committee is to provide advice and counsel to the Director on operating policies and procedures as they relate to the Child and Family Development Resource Center. This includes families, staff, and the Center's relationship with Eastern and the community at large. The committee acts as a conduit for information and feedback between the CFDRC administration and families. This is not a formal decision-making body and does not have oversight or responsibility for the CFDRC budget. Each classroom has a parent representatives serve on the committee. Other committee members include staff, faculty, and members of the local early childhood community.

PTO

The Parent/Teacher Organization provides another vehicle for parents and staff to work together to create the best possible environment for children, their families and the staff who work at the Child and Family Development Resource Center. This committee plans family events, fundraising activities, parenting education opportunities and coordinates parent volunteers to assist teachers in the classroom.
