Why go to Graduate School?

Many students attend graduate school to earn a degree that will allow them to work in a field requiring specialized training, for example: the medical field, business, or higher education.  Other students choose graduate school out of a desire to acquire more knowledge in a specific area of interest and to better prepare for entry into the workforce.
