This grant was established by Dean Carmen Cid prior to her retirement in 2021 to support promising student scholars in their pursuit of English studies. This fund is intended to encourage emerging writers and scholarship whose experiences and perspectives enrich the academic community and the field of English studies. Preference may be given to students whose lived experiences, personal perspectives, cultural backgrounds multilingual abilities, global experiences or other characteristics contribute to the diversity of voices and perspectives within the study of English literary expression. Preference may also be given to students who demonstrate financial need.
