Strategic Planning

Eastern Connecticut State University's 2013 Strategic Plan is designed to provide students with rigorous and affordable academic programs and pre-professional experiences that prepare them for careers and graduate school. The plan promotes a diverse campus culture through which students are inspired by outstanding faculty and motivated classmates, develop a lifelong network, take on leadership roles, and become responsible and engaged citizens. Eastern continues to advance its position as a university of first choice, attracting students, faculty and staff who value its mission as a public liberal arts college.

The plan is the result of an inclusive, 12-month process begun in May 2012 that was led by COFE II (Committee on the Future of Eastern), a working committee composed of administrators, faculty and staff. Seven working committees and met throughout fall 2012 to develop a series of proposals with input from the university community that became the basis for the new Strategic Plan. At the end of the fall semester, the working committees' proposals were organized into five objectives and related initiatives by COFE II, and then vetted for input across the campus community during the spring 2013 semester.

In early April 2013, the final draft of the plan was promulgated for additional community feedback. The final Strategic Plan that can be accessed below will act as a guiding strategy for moving Eastern forward over the next five years.
