The Office of Planning and Institutional Research (PIR) provides an evidenced-based foundation for decision making and strategic planning, offering timely, accurate and pertinent information resources to internal and external stakeholders for effective reflection and assessment of Eastern’s liberal arts learning experience and outcomes.

What we do

  • Develop and administer institutional surveys as well as collect, report and analyze data for internal evaluation of institutional initiatives.
  • Provide information support for planning, assessment, accreditation, enrollment, budgeting and all institutional initiatives.
  • Support University compliance by providing accurate reporting to the CSCU system, relevant State and Federal agencies and other regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in partnerships with non-profit data providers and respond to requests from professional organizations, college guidebooks and other media outlets.
  • Manage and facilitate data governance to maximize Eastern’s analytical capabilities.
  • Promote, influence and advance a culture of shared knowledge by providing data, information and analysis to members of the Eastern community in accordance with their role, purpose and interest.
