Eastern Connecticut State University welcomed more than 900 loved ones to campus on Oct. 3 for Family Day, giving current students' families a chance to explore campus, enjoy a wide range of games and activities, and take advantage of eastern Connecticut’s beautiful fall weather.

Hosted by the Office of Student Activities, Family Day participants visited Webb Lawn’s Family Fun Zone, painted pumpkins, played on inflatables, and completed challenges with their family.

A wide array of scarecrows scattered campus, each one uniquely decorated by a student organization or club, while the Student Center patio welcomed Blue Iris Farm to host a Petting Zoo area with local animals.

The Fine Arts Instructional Center parking lot was abuzz with activity, offering a BBQ-style lunch as musician Jay Filson filled the air with soft acoustic guitar.

Inside the Student Center, guests relaxed from the hustle and bustle and gathered to play bingo.

As evening fell, families watched an explosive game of men’s soccer as the Warriors took on Plymouth State University.

"Family Day was a success!" declared Alyssa Duffy, director of new student and family programs. "The day was filled with smiles, photos, and memories. With more than 900 people in attendance, everyone was invited to enjoy activities as well as several club and organization performances. We also hosted a spirit tent to support our home athletic events."
