Art Gallery Opens LatinX Exhibit

The Art Gallery at Eastern Connecticut State University is continuing its fall exhibition by highlighting Latinx art with the “Future is Latinx.” The exhibition is on display from Oct. 8 to Dec. 3. An opening reception took place on Oct. 8, with participating artist David Antonio Cruz.  An art professor at Tufts University, Cruz discussed his artwork in the exhibition, which focuses on the visibility and intersectionality of Brown, Black and queer bodies.

The 15 artists in this exhibition challenge cultural stereotypes and tackle issues ranging from systemic inequality to race, criminalization of immigration and more. On opening night, a special talk will be given by one of the artists,

The Art Gallery is located in the Fine Arts Instructional Center and open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or by appointment. For more information, email the Gallery Director Tikhonova at tikhonovay@easternct.edu or call (860) 465-4625.
