Poster Guidelines

Please be sure to work closely with your faculty mentor as you prepare for the conference.

Preparing Your Poster

  • Please work closely with your faculty mentor as you construct your poster.
  • Please plan on printing your poster as far in advance as possible, to prevent a backlog closer to the conference.
  • Posters will be displayed on mobile poster display stands in the Betty Tipton Room of the Student Center. You will use pushpins to display your poster on the display stands. A few posters will be displayed on whiteboards that will be secured with magnets that will be provided.
  • All posters must be set up between 8:00 and 9:00 am. Conference committee members will be there to assist you.

Plotting Your Poster (Webb Room 410 or The University Copy Center)

  • All posters must be plotted. Please plan ahead as there could be a long printing queue, if you wait too close to the conference deadline.
  • All posters printed in Webb 410 can fit a maximum size of 36" x 48". Be sure to proof your poster before plotting as reprinting is very limited.
  • Poster files must be brought to Webb 410 as a PDF file or as a PowerPoint Slide during normal computer lab hours. Make sure to bring your file for plotting no later than Friday, April 6th.
  • If you plot and print your poster in a place other than Webb 410, such as the campus Copy Center, the size cannot exceed 36" x 60". If you use the Copy Center, you must have your mentor email an electronic copy of your poster for printing. Please note the format for printing posters in the Copy Center is PDF.
  • Templates and video instructions on how to plot posters are available on the Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity website

Setting Up Your Poster

  • All posters will be displayed on stands in the Betty Tipton Room or on the room's walls.

On the Day of the Conference

  • Please arrive and register at the registration desk in the Student Center Café Friday, at 8:00 am on Friday, April 13th. A schedule of presentations and rooms will be available at registration. You should plan to attend the opening ceremonies, oral presentations, and poster sessions. Please plan to attend the art exhibit and live performances as well.
  • All Poster Presenters must remain with your poster for at least the formally scheduled poster session (1:00pm to 2:00pm) to answer questions and explain your work.
