Reader Cards at Commencement 2025

Your Name. Your Moment.

We’re excited to introduce Personalized Reader Cards for the Class of 2025! This new feature ensures that your name is displayed on the livestream and Jumbotron as you cross the stage during Commencement.

What is a Reader Card?

A Reader Card is a personalized card you'll receive at check-in on the day of Commencement. It contains:

  • Your full name as it will be announced
  • A QR code linked to your digital slide for display
  • Any special honors or distinctions (e.g., Cum Laude)

How It Works:

  1. Check in when you arrive at the XL Center to receive your Reader Card.
  2. When you line up to walk, a staff member will scan your QR code.
  3. After your scan, stay in order so your name and slide match your moment on stage.
  4. If your name is difficult to pronounce, let the check-in team know — we’ll mark your card for phonetic assistance.
  5. Cards marked with a red dot mean you’ll whisper your name to the reader right before you walk, so we get it right.

BONUS! After picking up your Reader Card, don’t forget to grab a complimentary Eastern graduation pin as a keepsake of your big day!
