We value giving back to our community, and one way we do this is by hosting 2 blood drives every semester. This gives our students the opportunity to donate when able and volunteer for community service hours.
By donating 1 pint of blood, you can help save up to 3 lives. Please consider getting involved with our blood drives, either by donating or by volunteering, and become "Someone's Hero". All of our drives take place on campus from 11:15am - 5pm in the Betty Tipton Room of the Student Center. You can sign up to donate through our recruitment tables or through the Red Cross using zipcode 06226.
Our much anticipated comeback is here! Join Father Larry and his team for free pasta with meatballs, garlic bread, and salad every Wednesday starting in October at Newman Hall (290 Prospect Street) from 5-6pm.
Food insecurity does not only impact our community, but also our campus. 1 in 5 college students in Connecticut face some type of food insecurity and we use our food pantry, Shawn's Cupboard, to help them. Our pantry is a student-led free and confidential source of not just food but hygiene products and recipes as well as seasonal products (hats, backpacks, notebooks, etc.) as donated. Thanks to donations from our campus and our community partners (including our churches!) and partnerships with Stop & Shop and CT FoodShare, we are able to stock our shelves with the fuel our students need to succeed.
The Pantry is open Monday-Friday from 10am-5pm at the Knight House.
Grab your free pancakes every Thursday night in the Student Center Cafe from 8:30pm - 10pm with chocolate chips on the first Thursday of the month! Enjoy themed nights, live music, karaoke, Kahoot, and time with your friends with a sweet treat!
