Samantha (Sam) Guppy Memorial Fund – Be Strong & Be Kind*+

This fund was created to honor Sam’s enduring commitment to service and advocacy for individuals of all abilities, lifestyles, and conditions. This fund will support students who demonstrate a passion for helping others and creating inclusive, equitable communities.

In keeping with the spirit of Sam’s legacy, the fund may support a wide range of student needs and activities, provided it’s to further the cause of advocacy and inclusion. This includes travel to present research, advocacy work at conferences, expenses related to community-based projects, support for unpaid internships, and costs associated with independent research.

Applicants will be asked to submit a short-written statement describing how their personal mission and experiences align with Sam’s vision of being an advocate for others and champion for those whose voices often go unheard. These applications will be reviewed by a committee including a member of Sam’s family, a faculty member and chaired by the Director of AccessAbility Services. Final decision made by the Office of Student Affairs.

Students are encouraged to file the FAFSA by March 1
