Friends and colleagues of Francis E. Geissler initially funded the Francis E. and Dorothy M. Geissler Memorial Endowed Scholarship in honor of his retirement in 1977, following many years of service as an Eastern administrator and coach. With the passing of Dorothy (February 2007) and Francis (July 2009) and at the request of the Geissler children, the name of this scholarship was changed to the Francis E. and Dorothy M. Geissler Memorial Endowed Scholarship to honor the contributions to Eastern of both Francis and his wife of 67 years. This scholarship, awarded at a minimum of $500, is for a student who has completed two years at Eastern, is going to be a junior, has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, and has made an outstanding contribution to the college community through leadership in extra-curricular activities.
