David A. and Martha R. Yutzey Endowed Music Fund

Dr. David Yutzey, a retired psychology professor from the University of Connecticut, generously established the David A. and Martha R. Yutzey Endowed Music Fund in 2011 as a tribute to his friend and musical colleague Professor Robert Lemons. Dr. Yutzey has played tuba in the Community Band led by Bob Lemons for more than three decades. In 2014, at the time of Prof. Lemons retirement, the fund was renamed to include David’s wife, Martha R. The fund is to be used as an operational fund to support the Eastern Music Department. A portion of the fund’s assets will be used each year to provide a scholarship for an academically qualified music major with unmet financial need. The scholarship is awarded at a minimum of $500.
