Eastern’s Campus Activity Board (CAB) kicked off the spring semester with “CABin Fever,” a week-long series of events from Jan. 22-26. The exciting itinerary featured a variety of activities from arts and crafts to a silent disco, providing a lively start to the board’s fun-filled calendar for the upcoming semester.
Students experienced a “week of unforgettable moments as they kicked off the spring semester,” said Alyssa Duffy, associate director of student activities, who serves as CAB supervisor.
The events centered around community-building and engagement, having “opportunities to engage with one another, win prizes, memories, food and giveaways,” said Duffy.
The festivities began with “Knot your Average CABin Event,” which featured arts, crafts and snacks. Students created their own throw blankets and knot crafts. The program continued with a “Pancake Night,” popular among students, which brought students together for a social evening with live music and fresh pancakes.
Students competed for prizes at “Break the Ice: The Gameshow,” followed by an energetic silent disco at “Saturday Night Fever.” The week concluded with brunch and bingo on Sunday.
After its successful first week, CAB is only starting to engage the student community this spring. “Over the course of the semester, students can anticipate a full lineup of events,” said Duffy. The board will host weekly events that “provide a diverse array of offerings including performers, novelties, photo opportunities, food and so much more.”
Off-campus trips are also on the agenda, including an upcoming snow tubing trip on Feb 1.
