Eastern Connecticut State University’s Campus Activity Board (CAB) was recently recognized for its dedication to campus involvement at the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) Hartford Conference. Hosted from Oct. 27-29, the conference awarded three schools, including Eastern, the 2022 Excellence in Programming Award.

In order to be considered for the award, schools were asked to produce a written statement including a description of the mission of their organization, creative marketing initiatives, the range of diversity in the programs they produced, and the effectiveness of their programs. CAB was also awarded a certificate for Best Printed Material, a recognition voted on by fellow students at the conference.

“This year’s award considered programming efforts from November 2021 to October 2022, which is a testament to the hard work that was put in over the past year, as we transitioned between safe, engaging and meaningful programs while navigating COVID guidelines, as well as with our pivot back to a sense of normalcy,” said Associate Director of Student Activities Alyssa Duffy, CAB supervisor.

Duffy also emphasized that the award highlighted CAB’s resiliency to overcome obstacles, such as COVID, throughout the past few years. “I am so proud of what they have accomplished, their willingness to showcase and present on their programming efforts and their desire to continue to strive to host engaging programs.”
