The office of Gallery & Museum Operations supports The Art Gallery and it's mission to curate and present the work of emerging and established artists and to collect and preserve art work and related materials of relevance to the permanent collection and exhibition programming. The permanent collection and works on loan are used for exhibitions, educational programs, and related activities for the benefit and enrichment of Eastern and its students, faculty, staff and the larger community. With a firm dedication to the public liberal arts mission of the University, gallery and museum services is committed to providing exhibition programming with depth and relevance to multiple disciplinary perspectives and a diverse campus and community audience. In particular, the Art Gallery strives to provide an environment dedicated to inspiration and the interchange of ideas among these constituencies relating to the aesthetic, social, or political concerns, and the visual arts.

Collection Statement of Purpose
Eastern Connecticut State University's permanent art collection serves primarily as a teaching and research tool for students and faculty. The collection focuses on contemporary art produced by artists with a connection to New England.
