Emiliano C. Villanueva

Biography

Dr. Villanueva is an experienced educator in the disciplines of management, marketing, and international business within the context of the liberal arts tradition. A wine business scholar, his research interests are in the areas of wine international trade and wine exports (wine international business), wine business performance (wine management), and wine consumer demographics and wine tourism (wine marketing); he is a permanent member of the International Wine Organization (OIV) and the American Association of Wine Economists (AAWE). He earned his OIV Wine MSc in management and marketing from the University of Paris and his Ph.D. in economic history, with a dissertation in wine international business, from the University of Barcelona. Before coming to Eastern in 2013, Dr. Villanueva was a member for 7 years of the faculty at the Higher Colleges of Technology, the public higher education system of the United Arab Emirates.

Of Note

Dr. Villanueva speaks five languages, has traveled to 50 countries, has led students in global field courses to Japan, Qatar, Spain, and Italy, and is a lifelong supporter of the Argentine soccer champions, Boca Juniors.
