William Lugo

Biography

Dr. Lugo is an accomplished scholar and expert on adolescent drug and alcohol abuse, working with local communities across the country in alcohol and drug prevention. He also is a recognized expert on culture and media, focusing on the impact of television and video games on individuals and the society at large. Dr. Lugo earned his MS and PhD in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Of Note

Dr. Lugo has received several statewide grants to research and prevent adolescent drug and alcohol abuse in Connecticut. He has also served as the evaluator to several multi-million dollar national grants from SAMHSA and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. His research on culture and television currently guides several national cable channels who he collaborates with on a regular basis.
