Biography
Dr. Carol Ann Jackson is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at Eastern Connecticut State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Connecticut in May 2024. Rooted in her experiences growing up in Bridgeport, CT, her research examines inequality and social suffering through an intersectional lens, with a focus on policing, trauma, and the lived experiences of urban youth. She is dedicated to bridging scholarship and community engagement while creating spaces for liberation, empowerment, and collective healing.

Dr. Jackson co-founded a non-profit organization, "The Healing Home Rescue" in 2025 along with one of her former UCONN students. The Healing Home Rescue was built on the belief that rescue is a two-way street. Their mission is rooted in the understanding that all beings are connected, and through compassion, care, and second chances, they strive to create a ripple effect of healing.
