Andrea Brown ’08

Andrea is the Senior Premium Activation Manager for the NBA’s Orlando Magic. She manages the service and retention efforts of the Magic’s premium accounts, its highest paying/most distinguished customer base. “While at Eastern I learned what it takes to be a leader and my professors provided insight on career opportunities that existed in the sports industry.”

Early Childhood Education and Sociology double-major Jennifer Wolff teaches at Cook Hill Elementary School in Wallingford. “I transferred to Eastern after discovering the phenomenal opportunities available in the Center for Early Childhood Education. I was involved in many research projects and gained priceless experience in the field of education.”

Carmen earned her master’s degree at Quinnipiac University and is a TV reporter at WTIC-Fox in Hartford. “Eastern helped me to step out of my comfort zone and chase my dream of being a TV reporter. Thanks to the guidance of experienced professors, I can proudly say that I’m there. I encourage aspiring journalists to take advantage of Eastern’s TV news club. That’s where I started.”

Connor interned with the Willimantic Police Department as a police social worker, where he assisted officers on nonviolent cases pertaining to mental health, homelessness and other issues. “I was not expecting every officer to be so open to a social worker coming into their police department, but they have been so welcoming and truly see the purpose a social worker has in the police setting.”

Accounting major Katherine McNair is the audit manager at PKF O’Connor Davies. “Eastern’s accounting professors taught me the skills I would need to pass the Certified Public Accounting exam and the background knowledge I would need to start a career in public accounting.”

Abigail Bourdon ’22

Abigail’s research on the play of dual language preschoolers was published in a peer-reviewed journal. “I am lucky to not only have learned throughout the experience, but also grateful to have expanded the field of education. Having the opportunity to participate in research was one of the best parts of Eastern and it confirmed my passion to continue to teach and learn about children’s development.”

Alyssa Zebrowski ’15

Early Childhood Education and English double-major Alyssa Zebrowski recently earned a master’s degree in bilingual/multicultural education and now works with young English language learners in Stamford. “Eastern’s early childhood education program fully prepared me to be a classroom teacher right out of college. The unique research experiences I had as an undergraduate have given me an alternative perspective to teaching that I use each day.”

Ryan Gable ’22

Ryan is a content associate at ESPN producing video and graphic elements for the ACC Network. He makes montages, highlights and graphics that tell many different stories of athletes, teams and games. “I enjoy every minute that I’m a part of ESPN as this has always been my passion ever since I was a little kid. Eastern prepared me for fast-paced environments and most importantly, sports storytelling.”
